Award-winning Artist, Kip Herring, exhibits his talent through a variety of artistic mediums. Through various forms of Fine Art, Trompe L’Oeil, Commissioned Paintings, Illustrations and Broad-Scale Murals, Kip expresses his mastery of aesthetic vision, as his work hangs in private collections across the country.
Inspiration for his work comes from his deep connection with nature, from mountains and deserts to the open sky and beyond. Once focused on being a Meteorologist, Kip changed course and decided to transfer his interest in weather onto the canvas. Painting since high school, he continues his relationship with nature through his work.
Other inspiration for his art comes from a long history of multiple residences across the U.S.. Born in 1969 and originally from Virginia, he and his family headed west when he was 10 years old. Over the years, Kip has lived in such places as Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota and Montana. In all these areas, he explored the diverse and majestic landscapes and learned of their qualities. He claims the land has a spirit and this is what he desires to capture with his creations. |

Although landscapes are his foundation, Kip continues to expand into other areas of interest. These include the Cosmos, Architecture, Mysticism, Current-day issues, and the study of Ancient Civilizations. As always, he seeks the spirit connection with any one of these subject matter.
Kip calls his home Missoula, Montana, but is currently on the road much of the time. Due to recent unfoldings, he has chosen to pursue a temporary change of pace and inspiration. You might even see him in his red Watkins Shepard semi truck, while driving the freeway system across the country. He hopes to produce new work while on the road, and especially after his travels. |
